Why does it Matter?

Racism exists all over the world. We have all be raised differently either because of our race or culture. Many people are not aware of the racism that exists in our own communities or even within our own families. In some families, for example, you are not allowed to marry outside of your race. Also, in other countries there are arranged marriages that still exist today.

It is important to talk with your children, to educate them about racism so that in the future, they or their families are not discriminated against, or that they don’t do that to other people as well. It all starts at home, We have to teach our children to treat others with respect.

These types of events are important, because we are educating our community about racism and finding different ways to find solutions to this problem.

In my opinion, I think that we should treat others the same way we would like to be treated. I think there should be equality amongst all human beings.
